2. Otaku: Fuera de Japón, un otaku es considerado como un friki que solo vive para el anime y el manga. Pero en su país de origen un otaku no es necesariamente un aficionado al anime, también puede ser a un cantante, a un videojuego, a las computadoras, etc. Un otaku entonces es cualquier fanático obsesivo.
3. Fansub: Es una contracción de las palabras: fan subtitled (subtitulado por aficionados). Se da cuando un grupo de fans se encarga de traducir vídeos, películas o series de televisión. Los fansub se pueden realizar por diferentes razones: puede ser por su difícil acceso, por tener un bajo valor comercial o simplemente por que lardaría mucho en que una empresa lo traduzca y lo transmita en la tele. Un dato curioso es que originalmente el fansub esta hecho sin ningún fin de lucro, por lo que es gratuita. Pero tamos en el Perú y.... ¡Acá nada es gratis¡¡¡¡ así que aquí es la excepción jajajaja.
4. OVA: (iniciales de Original Video Animation) es usado en las tierras niponas para referirse a una producción de anime directamente en formato casero, a pesar de nunca haber sido estrenado en la tele o el el cine. La calidad de una OVA suele ser mayor a la de animación, pero ligeramente inferior a la de una película.
